Williams began designing and sewing clothes at an early age, first for her dolls and later, for herself and her children. Because no patterns were available, William’s creativity was unleased by the age12 or 13.
After moving to The Galena Territory five years ago, Williams exhibited at the Sunday morning Farmer’s Market. She credits the market attenders for guiding her toward handcrafted American Girl doll dresses. “I paid attention to the requests and realized I could create the supply to meet the unexpected demand,” explains Williams.
Williams has added an historical element to her creations with Civil War period pieces and outfits from the early 1900’s Edwardian Era. She even makes the hats. “Now, I know more about fashion and history than I ever imaged I would.”
Williams has taken online courses for pattern making and design. She studies recently published magazines to find current trends in children’s clothing. Quality fabrics and attention-to-detail construction make each outfit outstanding.
